Youth Metro Drug Coalition (YMDC)

Youth Metro Drug Coalition consists of sophomore, junior and senior high school students across Knox County who have a personal connection to addiction or a passion for substance misuse prevention. YMDC has a passion for creating change around substance use and mental health issues. In this comfortable environment, teens can freely discuss challenges they may be facing in their communities. Teens learn to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders among their peers. This program teaches students the skills to have supportive conversations with their friends and live a life above the influence.
