The Medication Collection Task Force had its most successful drug take-back event yet in November with more than 770 pounds of medications disposed, including 34 pounds of narcotics. Since the program began in 2008, 6,847 pounds have been collected.
The next event will be held on March 23, location to be determined. Citizens can drop off their personal medications 24/7 at the Knoxville Police Department headquarters, no questions asked. No bulk hospital or commercial waste is accepted. For more information, visit medicationcollection.org.
