Carmalita believes in the therapeutic value of sponsorship, restoring families and maintaining healthy friendships. Carmalita has been in recovery for 3 years and has become a bright light in our community.

Word From Carmalita’s Nomination

Carmalita has been a bright light in the treatment and recovery community and maintained sobriety since 10/27/2021. During the past 3 years she has impacted the lives of persons with Substance Use Disorder through her employment, service work and being an example of what recovery has to offer. She does not let her past hold her back, rather she uses it as motivation to move forward and show others they too can overcome their challenges.

Thank you, Carmalita, for the important work you are doing in the Knoxville community!
