Key community partners for the Born Drug-Free TN campaign, including Metro Drug Coalition, United Way of Greater Knoxville, Appalachia HIDTA, and more, gathered at United Way on August 1 to celebrate and learn about the campaign’s relaunch. The revised Born Drug-Free campaign include: a new website design by Knox Web, revised printed materials, and updated television and radio PSAs. With the shift in the use of heroin and continued use of prescription drugs, BDFTN has retailored our messaging to these specific needs.

Since its official launch in 2015, Born Drug-Free TN has helped raise awareness about Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome in Tennessee, educate expecting mothers about the dangers of prescription drug use during pregnancy, and offer resources to new mothers, families and medical providers. In 2016, 991 babies were born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome in Tennessee, and the campaign hopes to see that number decline this year. Born Drug-Free TN seeks to expand across Tennessee in order to reach more women and their families.

Special thank you to Appalachia HIDTA and United Way of Greater Knoxville for their continued support of this initiative. To learn more about this campaign, or to implement it into your community, visit: https://borndrugfreetn.com
