About the Community Champion Awards

Each year, Metro Drug Coalition honors leaders in the community who are making Knoxville a safe and healthier place to live. We honor these individuals and celebrate their incredible work, as well as the work on MDC’s Coalition. We hope to see you at this year’s event.

Nominees and community members are invited to attend the Award Ceremony. The cost of admission for community members is $20. Nominees and plus-ones do not need to pay to register and will be provided more information on confirming attendance.

Finger foods and refreshments provided.

Nominations for the 13th Annual Community Champion Awards are open October 2nd and close November 4th. Nominations will be reviewed November 5th – 13th. Nominees will be notified via email by November 20th.

Community Champion Award

This award recognizes an individual who has shown exceptional commitment to improving the overall health, wellness, and resiliency of Knox County.

Prevention Excellence Award

This award recognizes an individual’s passion and dedicated efforts to prevent substance misuse and promoting healthy development among families and communities.

Youth Leadership Award

This award recognizes a Knox County youth 25 and under who has emerged as a leader, advocate, and role model in their school or community.

Recovery & Wellness Champion Award

This award recognizes an individual in long-term recovery who has reduced stigma and served as an inspiration through their own recovery journey.

Community Care Award

This award recognizes a professional that has shown compassion and leadership in the services they provide in the field of substance misuse and treatment.

Community Awareness & Advocacy Award

This award recognizes an individual that has increased public awareness, understanding, and inspired action affecting health and wellness in their community.
