More About MDC

In addition to all of the amazing work at The Gateway Recovery Community Center, MDC is also focused on creating a healthy and safe community, free of substance misuse. MDC does primary prevention work across the Knoxville community, and also offers harm reduction services including overdose reversal medication and training to anyone in the community.

Help us honor Michael’s memory by making a donation to The Gateway, Knoxville’s first recovery community center. 

A project of Metro Drug Coalition, The Gateway is focused on providing recovery support services to individuals in early recovery. Folks in early recovery often struggle to adapt to all of the changes that long-term recovery requires. The Gateway offers services free of charge, including expedited access to grant-funded treatment beds across the state and guidance and support through recovery coaching. 

The Gateway also provides a place where folks in recovery can congregate and socialize. The facility offers space to exercise and take yoga classes, shoot pool, play music and make art, use a computer, attend lectures & educational groups, participate in recovery meetings, and more. The Gateway even offers social events like tailgate parties and cookouts to help folks become more comfortable being sober in social environments.

The funds raised in memory of Michael White will go toward enhancing The Gateway and all it has to offer our community.
